Clouseau wins two TMF Awards

Tonight the TMF Awards Flanders 2004 took place in the Sports Palace of Antwerp. Clouseau, the Belgian representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1991 were nominated three times and won the awards for Best Live Act and Best Male Singer. Eurosong 2004 runner-up Natalia went home with two awards.

TMF Flanders, the Flemish MTV channel organized their annual Awards show tonight. The 1991 Eurovision Song Contest participants Clouseau (Geef het op) were nominated in three categories and won the award for Best Live Act. Leadsinger Koen Wauters also won the award for Best Male Singer.

Eurosong 2004 runner-up Natalia was nominated in two categories and also won twice. As Best Female Singer she defeated Kate Ryan, Sarah Bettens (K's Choice) and Belle Perez (Eurosong 1999). In the Best Pop categorie she again defeated Belle Perez, Clouseau and Gene Thomas .

The TMF Awards were broadcast live on TMF Flanders, TMF The Netherlands and over the internet as from 20.00 CET tonight. The highlights will later on be shown on the MTV channels all over Europe.

Xandee and Ruslana were not nominated in any category. Although they reached number 1 in Flanders with their Eurovision hits (Ruslana occupied the first place for 10 weeks) the TMF viewers did not select them.

Ruslana's next visit to Belgium is scheduled for 15th and 16th October when she will promote her new single Dance with the wolves. As apotheosis of her visit, Ruslana will perform at the Miss Belgian Beauty election, broadcast live on VT4.
