Vietnam selects Tóc Tiên and ‘EM TIÊN’ for Eurovision Asia 2026
The excitement for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 continues to build as Vietnam officially announces its participant. Superstar Tóc Tiên will take to the stage in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, 14 November, with her song ‘EM TIÊN’.
The selection process saw Vietnam Television (VTV) internally select Tóc Tiên as their representative. Following this, a dedicated national final titled ‘The Sound of Vietnam’ was held on 3 October 2026, to determine which song she would perform. Five shortlisted entries were performed by Tóc Tiên during the show, with ‘EM TIÊN’ ultimately triumphing.
The winning entry, ‘EM TIÊN’, was chosen through a combination of jury voting, local public voting, and an international audience vote. The jury and local public each accounted for 40% of the final decision, while international viewers contributed 20%.
Tóc Tiên is a prominent figure in Vietnamese music, known for her dynamic performances and strong stage presence. Her selection and the chosen song are expected to showcase the unique cultural and musical identity of Vietnam to a wide international audience at the first-ever Eurovision Asia.
