The EBU has released a statement regarding VRT’s confirmation of Beligum’s Eurovision 2027 participation.
Earlier today, the Flemish speaking Belgian national broadcaster VRT confirmed Belgium’s participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Noel Curran (EBU General Director) has released the following statement regarding VRT’s Eurovision 2027 confirmation:
Since the founding of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, we have wanted to bring people together through music. In a world facing war, polarization, and division, peace, mutual understanding, and connection are more relevant than ever. We listened to the concerns of our members and recognized that fundamental changes were needed. We have taken important steps to strengthen governance, dialogue, and the anchoring of our values. We appreciate that VRT acknowledges this movement and remains committed to building the future of the Song Contest together with us.
