Dutch Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence has delighted fans with the release of his brand new single, ‘New To You’. The track marks his first new music of 2026 and serves as the lead single from his forthcoming album.
The highly anticipated single, ‘New To You‘, dropped yestday, August 21, 2026, showcasing Duncan Laurence‘s signature vocal prowess alongside a blend of piano, strings, and a modern, ethereal electronic sound in the chorus. An accompanying music video was also released, giving fans a visual treat to go with the new sound.
Laurence, who famously won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 with his ballad ‘Arcade’, shared insights into the creative process behind his latest work.
He revealed on Instagram that the journey for this new album began two and a half years ago, and ‘New To You’ was always destined to be the introductory single for this exciting new chapter in his career.
Duncan Laurence says:
New To You is here. I remember starting this journey 2.5 years ago. I was lost. I was trying to be ‘different,’ special in the eyes of the people I trusted. I wasted time on things and thoughts that weren’t helping me move forward.” He continues: “Until one day, I decided to change everything. To stop caring about other people’s opinions. To move to the other side of the world. To take a leap of faith. And to write, write, write my entire heart out along the way. Music pushed me back on my feet once again
Duncan adds:
I can’t believe the moment is finally here. It’s been a long time since I started working on this album, and right from the moment we finished it’s very first demo, I knew New To You had to be the first single of this brand new chapter. I’m so happy and so thankful to have such amazing, loyal and creative people around me, who helped me bring this new chapter to life. And soooo thankful for all of you supporting me, allowing me to create something I’m truly proud of. It’s all yours, by midnight. I honestly can’t really believe it. But it’s really happening. This release signals the start of a new era for the acclaimed singer-songwriter, promising more new music to come with an album on the horizon. ‘New To You’ explores themes of longing and the desire to be seen anew, with Duncan posing the question, “What would it take to feel new to you?”
