Burgas Airport has backed the city’s bid to host Eurovision 2027. The airport says it has the necessary capacity and international connectivity to welcome participants, delegations, media and guests from all over Europe. According to airport data, in 2026 Burgas is connected to over 70 direct destinations, and during the period in which the contest is traditionally held, air connectivity is better than that of some previous Eurovision hosts, including Malmö and Rotterdam. The management also states that the airport can handle up to 21 flights per hour and about 50,000 passengers per day. They add that they are already working in coordination with the Municipality of Burgas and other institutions to support the city’s candidacy, and will provide their expertise in organizing major international events.
Two cities remain in the Eurovision 2027 Host City race, BNT the Bulgarian national broadcaster and the EBU are expected to make their deliberation and announce the name of the ESC 2027 host city by the end of July.
