Gåte, who captivated audiences as Norway’s representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, have just released their brand new single, ‘Oskorsreia’. This latest offering showcases the band’s signature blend of traditional Nordic folk music and explosive rock.

Norwegian folk-rock sensation Gåte, fresh from their appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, are back with exciting new music. The band, known for their powerful fusion of traditional Nordic sounds and modern rock, has unveiled their latest single, ‘Oskorsreia’.

Gåte represented Norway with their compelling track ‘Ulveham‘ at Eurovision 2024, performing in Norwegian and bringing a unique cultural flavour to the international stage.

Their new single, ‘Oskorsreia‘, continues this tradition, drawing inspiration from the ancient Nordic legend of the Wild Hunt (oskoreia) – a spectral procession sweeping across the landscape.

The track is built around a dense, rhythmically relentless arrangement, featuring the Hardanger fiddle, electric guitar, and layered programming, creating an unstoppable momentum that mirrors the legend it invokes. The band describes the song as a reflection on today’s world, using the metaphor of a ghostly procession to explore themes of consumption and insatiable desire.

Oskorsreia‘ is the second single from Gåte’s forthcoming album, Sigil, which is set to be released on 25th September 2026 via Season of Mist. Fans can also enjoy an official music video for ‘Oskorsreia‘, which visually captures the haunting atmosphere of the ancient legend, filmed overnight in the forests of Trondheim.
