The members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have re-elected their President and Vice  President during the 96th EBU Annual Assembly yesterday along with three new members. The event was held in Prague, Czechia.

Delphine Ernotte Cunci (France Televisions CEO) and Cilla Benko ( Radio Sweden General Director) have been re-elected as the EBU’s President and Vice President for a two year mandate (2027-2028).The President and Vice-President are responsible for leading the EBU’s Executive Board and championing the value and importance of public service media across Europe.

Three new Exective Board members were also elected yesterday during the General Assembly  in order to fill the available vacancies on the 11 member of the board:  Rhodri Talfan Davies (BBC), Yannis Papadopoulos (ERT) and Susanne Wille (SRG SSR) – will serve until the end of 2026, completing the terms of their predecessors.

About the EBU

The EBU is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is a global alliance of public service media (PSM). The European Broadcasting Corporation has 70 active members in 57 countries and 28 associate members in 18 countries.

The EBU’s main target is to secure a sustainable future for public service media, providing its members with world-class content: news, sports and  music etc. The EBU also aims building on its founding ethos of solidarity and co-operation to create a centre for learning and sharing.

Mr. Noel Curran is currently the General Director of the EBU. The European Broadcasting Union is the organizer of the Eurovision Song Contest, an event it has been producing since 1956.
