Four cities vie for hosting rights

The race to become the Eurovision 2027 host city is already underway, with four prominent Bulgarian cities – Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, and Burgas – officially vying for the honour. BNT Director General Milena Milotinova has indicated that the host city is expected to be announced in July. BNT is seeking a ‘partner city’ that will work closely with the broadcaster throughout the extensive planning and delivery process, highlighting the immense scale and long-term investment involved in hosting Eurovision.

Candidate cities must meet stringent requirements set by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), including providing an indoor venue with a minimum capacity of 10,000 spectators, a large press centre, dedicated spaces for artists and delegations, adequate hotel accommodation, and modern transport and technical infrastructure.
