Swedish pop sensation A*Teens are back with their highly anticipated new single, “You Got The Look,” released today, June 5th. This track follows the immense success of their comeback single “Iconic,” which marked their first new music in over two decades and topped charts in Sweden. The group continues to build on their celebrated return, delighting fans worldwide with fresh material.
The globally celebrated Swedish pop group A*Teens unveil their brand-new single, “You Got The Look,” today, June 5th. This release comes hot on the heels of their massive comeback success with “Iconic,” which quickly became one of the biggest pop returns of the year.
“Iconic,” their first new music in over 22 years, achieved gold certification and soared to number one on Spotify, the Swedish Singles Chart, and the Swedish Radio Chart. This marked a significant milestone for A*Teens, as it was their first number-one single in Sweden since their 1999 hit “Mamma Mia.” The track also garnered considerable international acclaim across various markets, including the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and South America.
The members of A*Teens shared their feelings about the overwhelming response to their return:
Not having released a new song in over 22 years and then receiving the incredible response that ‘Iconic’ has gotten so far feels both emotional and overwhelming. The fact that the song also became our first #1 in Sweden since ‘Mamma Mia’ truly makes it feel like things have come full circle.
Now, A*Teens follow up this triumph with “You Got The Look,” a modern interpretation of Roxette’s iconic global hit “The Look.” The original song was an international smash, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and dominating charts in countries such as Germany, Italy, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, and the Eurochart Hot 100. This year, 2026, also commemorates Roxette’s 40th anniversary, making this tribute particularly poignant. Both Roxette and A*Teens have played crucial roles in the Swedish pop phenomenon, achieving significant international success, which makes A*Teens’ reimagining of one of Sweden’s most beloved pop songs a natural fit.
A*Teens expressed their pride in the new single:
We are incredibly proud to release ‘You Got The Look.’ Together with the producers, we truly feel we managed to make the song our own. Honestly, it feels surreal to have been given the opportunity to open Roxette’s treasure chest. ‘The Look’ is one of the greatest Swedish pop songs ever made. Being able to celebrate the Swedish pop legacy in this way is a huge honour for us.”
“You Got The Look” was penned by Per Gessle (of Roxette), Hanna Hedman, Alicia Ericson, Kristoffer Fogelmark, and Albin Nedler. Production credits go to Alicia Ericson, Josef Vallander, Albin Nedler (known for his work with Avicii, Selena Gomez, Martin Garrix, MØ, One Direction, DNCE, 5 Seconds of Summer, Foster The People), and Kristoffer Fogelmark (who has collaborated with Harry Styles, Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, One Direction, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Martin Garrix, Avicii).
Per Gessle of Roxette shared his thoughts on the cover:
“Time passes and pop music, just like everything else, evolves. I’m happy that A*Teens managed to create a modern and vibrant version of ‘The Look’ 38 years after it was born. Quite magical, really!”
Formed in 1998, A*Teens quickly rose to international fame through their distinctive interpretations of ABBA’s timeless hits. The group topped charts not only in their native Sweden but also achieved significant success across the US, South America, and Asia. They toured alongside global superstars such as Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
Their debut album, “The ABBA Generation,” has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and earned gold or platinum certifications in more than 22 countries. With hit singles like “Upside Down,” “Halfway Around The World,” and “Can’t Help Falling In Love” from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, the group has collectively sold over 6 million albums globally.
Following their celebrated reunion in 2024, A*Teens continued their comeback with live performances across the globe throughout 2025, including concerts and tours in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the UK, Spain, and Norway. During this period, the group also released a new version of “Dancing Queen,” produced exclusively for Marvel’s blockbuster film Venom: The Last Dance.
A*Teens are now set to continue building on their global comeback with more new music and an exciting upcoming summer tour.
