RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has announced an extension to the song submission period for Benidorm Fest 2027. Aspiring artists and songwriters now have more time to submit their entries for the national selection show. The initial deadline of 12 July has been pushed back.

Benidorm Fest 2027: New Submission Deadline

The original deadline for submitting songs to Benidorm Fest 2027 was set for 12 July. However, RTVE has now officially extended this period, giving potential participants an additional two weeks to finalise and submit their entries.

The new, revised deadline for song submissions is now 30 July. This extension provides a greater opportunity for a wider array of talent to participate in Spain’s highly anticipated national selection process.

Benidorm Fest has quickly become one of the most popular national selections, consistently delivering strong contenders. The extension of the submission window is expected to further enhance the quality and diversity of the entries received by RTVE. The submission window originally opened on April 6, 2026.

It is worth noting that while Benidorm Fest serves as Spain’s national selection, RTVE has not explicitly mentioned its connection to the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in the call for artists, following Spain’s withdrawal from Eurovision 2026. RTVE has stated that Benidorm Fest has Eurovision in its DNA but also has an independent life.

The winner of Benidorm Fest  2027 will represent Spain at Eurovision 2027 in the case RTVE decides to participate at the competition next year according to the rules. Spain’s participation at Eurovision 2027 is yet unclear after its withdrawal from the contest this year.

RTVE is yet to confirm the dates for Benidorm Fesf 2027. The Spanish national broadcaster will be also extended  a direct invite to established singers and composers to enter the competition.
