VRT’s official press release reads:
Who will represent our country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel? All of Flanders will have a say in this next spring. That is when VRT will once again organise the pre-selections for Eurosong 2025 on VRT 1, in which eight different artists will try their luck at representing our country on the big stage in Switzerland: Jelle van Dael, Lenn, Grace, Mentissa, LEEZ, Le Manou, Red Sebastian and Stefanie Callebaut. They are ready for Eurosong 2025 ! Host Peter Van de Veire will lead Eurosong 2025 in the right direction, and will of course once again provide expert commentary on the big Eurovision Song Contest in May.
Some time ago, VRT issued a call to the broad music sector to register for the pre-selections. From these registrations, eight artists were selected who will be allowed to show their skills in Eurosong 2025. Each artist will participate with a song of their own choosing. In two preliminary rounds, we will get to know the artists better and we will also hear the songs in their ‘pure version’. Who will ultimately be allowed to go to the Eurovision Song Contest will become clear during a thundering live show on Saturday evening, 1 February. During this show, the viewers, together with a professional jury, can decide who will represent our country. We will already get to know the candidates below, the songs will be released to the world early this spring.
Peter Van de Veire says:
The Eurovision Song Contest is the Olympic Games of music. You have three minutes to captivate Europe. And I believe that these eight talents can do it. They have an amazing voice, a great song and a lot of enthusiasm. They convinced us and have raised the bar a little higher this year. I am already certain that the winner will do interstellarly well in Basel.
