Chief Inspector Derrick to investigate at national final

Murder at the German preselection as one participant is so eager to win that he does not even shy away from killing his competitors! And it takes nobody less than Germany's best-known police inspector Derrick and his assistent Harry Klein to clear the case.

This is the storyline of Derrick – the cartoon, a new animated film in which Germany's TV crime series icon Derrick has to resolve a serial murder connected with the national final for the “European Song Contest”, letting the chief inspector meet “transvestites, poodles, psychiatrists, nuns, cleaning women and lots of stars” (NDR press release), while his assistent Harry falls deeply in love. Any speculations about a well-known Munich-based composer being a prime suspect are coming too early as the cartoon is scheduled to hit the movie screens in spring 2004.
