Rumours were spread last night at mailing lists that the EBU contacted the NOS to say they must be ready for participation. The rumours were false, according to the EBU.

“The NOS has been contacted by the EBU that they have to be stand-by. There are problems with the participation list”, a Dutch radio broadcaster said.

EBU's Christine Marchal denies the rumours: “Of course we all know the Netherlands is the next country on the waiting
list, but I do not think anybody will withdraw at this stage…and again there has been no discussion with NOS about that”.
