Tonya wins second semi-final in Belgium

Tonya Schamp, the youngest of all participants in Belgium this year, won the second semi final of Eurosong for Kids. Together with Laura, X!nk, Martijn and Remi she goes on to the final.

Tonya is an energetic young girl who loves singing and dancing. With her song Hé doe maar mee (Hey, join in), she defeated her biggest opponent Remi at the end, thanks to the votes of the TV1 televoting. The results are as follows:

1. 77 points: Tonya � Hé doe maar mee (Hey join in)
2. 76 points: Remi � Duizend dromen (Thousand dreams)
3. 68 points: Simon MC � Rapklap (Fast talk)
4. 66 points: Twin Girls � Plezier voor twee (Fun for two)
5. 63 points: Jelly Pie � Groen (Green)

On Sunday 21st September the Flemish broadcaster VRT will organise the final in which the two winners of the semi finals and the three best non-winning songs are competing. That means that Tonya, Laura, X!nk, Martijn and Remi will appear in the final.

The winner of the Eurosong for Kids final will represent Belgium at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003, which will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 15th November.
