Erev tov, Tel Aviv! This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Ladies and gentlemen, the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 has started! Tonight sees the first day of this exciting week, with the Dress Rehearsal (and jury show) for the first semi-final, which the public will be enjoying tomorrow!

Following the first dress rehearsal which took place earlier today on the stage of Expo Tel Aviv, it’s time for the second one (and jury show), which is going to be equally important for the contestants of the first semi-final, as 50% of tomorrow’s final result will be shaped during it.

First semi-final: The running order

Below you may check out the running order of the first semi-final:

How does this work?

In keeping with the tradition, the jury votes are determined the evening before each official live show. Tonight, all jury members across the 17 competing countries, as well as in 3 out of the 6 automatically-qualified countries (Israel, France and Spain) are set to cast their votes by submitting their total ranking from their most favourite entry to their least favourite one.

Each jury panel’s overall ranking will be awarded within the traditional Eurovision style (1 to 8, 10 and 12 points). However, no actual results are going to be revealed at the end of night, but they will only be added to the televoting results, these emerging tomorrow. Thus, the 10 countries with the highest total scores will progress to Saturday’s final. All names of this year’s 205 jurors have already been announced and you may find them here.

Tonight’s show starts at 21:00 CEST (22:00 local time), but it’s NOT going to air live. The live broadcast of the first semi-final has been scheduled for tomorrow at the same time.
