As this year’s participants list is a breath away from its finalization, tonight it was Serbia’s turn to decide upon their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. The Grand Final of the country’s national selection event Beovizija has now concluded and it’s Nevena Božović who will be hoping to provide them with a successful result!

The final show featured a total of 12 competing entries, all qualified from the two semi-final evenings, on 27 and 28 February. These were:

  • Saška Janks – Da li čuješ moj glas
  • Majdan – Budim te
  • Sofija Perić – Aritmija
  • Dženan Lončarević – Nema suza
  • Wonder Strings & Ivana Vladović – Moja bol
  • Jana Šušteršić – Viktorija
  • Lord – Radnički sin
  • Nevena Božović – Kruna
  • Ana Popović – Lutaš
  • Ivan Kurtić – Bela
  • Nataša & Una – Samo bez straha
  • Aleksandra Sekulić – Tugo

Both the jury and the public cast their votes tonight, each contrinuting equally to the eventual outcome. While approaching the end, tension was getting even higher and it was finally announced that Nevena Božović will fly to Tel Aviv and sing Kruna on stage! Dženan Lončarević was the runner up, whilst Saška Janks placed 3rd.

Nevena will try to reverse Serbia’s recent poor Eurovision results and bring them back to the left side of the scoreboard, for the first time since 2015. Last year, the country of the Balkans was represented by Sanja Ilić & Balkanika, who qualified for the Grand Final and eventually placed 19th, with the song Nova deca.

Serbia is going to perform in the first half of the first semi-final on 14 May.
