Chisinau calling! One more national selection to be held tonight is Moldova’s one! After two consecutive Top 10 placings in the last two years, it’s sure that the country of Eastern Europe will be setting the bar high once again. But who will be the one who will try to keep them on the left side on the scoreboard this year? Let’s be a little patient and find out tonight!

Tonight’s show

Following the preliminary auditions of the submitted entries in February, the Moldovan broadcaster TRM selected 10 acts to battle it out at their televised national selection event O melodie pentru Europa. The event was initially scheduled to consist of a semi-final too, which was later cancelled.

The running order for the show is as follows:

1. Aurel Chirtoacă – La cinema
2. Vera Țurcanu – Cold
3. Marcela Scripcaru – Meteor
4. Siaj – Olimp 
5. Maxim Zavidia – I will not surrender
6. Diana Brescan – Lies
7. Tinna Gi – Virus
8. Lemonique – GravitTy
9. Anna Odobescu – Stay
10. Che-MD feat. Elizaveta Ivasiuk – Sub Pământ

Tonight’s result will be decided both by an expert jury and the public’s say, each having a 50% stake.

As of the semi-final allocation draw, Moldova will participate on the first half of the second semi-final on 16 May.

Last year, Moldova was represented at Eurovision by the band DoReDos, which delivered an eccentric and theartical performance of their song My lucky day. The country went through to the Grand Final from the second semi-final and eventually placed 10th, with a total of 209 points.
