One day before its official presentation and release by the Belgian broadcaster RTBF, the country’s Eurovision song seems to have leaked on the web. Their chosen entrant Eliot Vassamillet is all set to sing Wake up in Tel Aviv!
It all started back in January, when Belgium announced that this year they will be represented by a former participant of The Voice Belgique, the young singer Eliot Vassamillet (aka Eliot). However, their announcement was not accompanied by his Eurovision entry, as this was going to be released at a later date. The time has come and ahead of the song’s official presentation tomorrow on MNM’s breakfast show, the full 3-minute version of Wake up seems to be already out. We are expecting the broadcaster’s reaction to the issue and the official release of the song.
Both music and lyrics of the track belong to the acclaimed composer Pierre Dumoulin.
Last year, Belgium selected internally the artist Laura Groeseneken (stage name SENNEK) to fly their flag in the Portuguese capital. She performed her entry A matter of time at the first semi-final, but she failed to qualify for the Grand Final. This was their first elimination after 2014.
This year, Belgium will compete in the second half of the first semi-final on 14 May.
