It has been one of the strongest sensations since he won the Italian festival of Sanremo earlier this month. Mahmood will represent Italy in Tel Aviv with his entry Soldi. Are you ready for the revamped version?

Buonasera Roma! This is Eurovision calling! Earlier this month ESCToday reported about the victory of the Italian-Egyptian singer Mahmood at the 69th Festival of Sanremo. Since then, his song Soldi has known a worldwide success, entering the Top 50 Global on Spotify.

The singer meanwhile confirmed that he will represent Italy at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. For this reason he announced that he will revisit the entry for the contest.

The advantage? No expectations

Mahmood admitted that his advantage in the revamp of Soldi is that he doesn’t have any expectation concerning his participation in Eurovision. The new version will include new elements. Some changes will also occur on the staging and the overall scenic performance.

A growing success

But it is not all. After having reached 1.5 million streams on Spotify in one single day, Soldi went gold by selling over 25,000 copies in less than ten days. In the near future Mahmood will launch an instore tour this Friday 22 February from Rome. He will also soon release his new album Gioventú Bruciata.

And as we wait for the revamped version, let’s watch again the official videoclip of Soldi:

From Lugano, Switzerland. Pragmatic idealist. Polyglot. Future-oriented. Left-handed. Tsundoku by nature. Eurovision lover since he can remember.
