That was quick! One week after Kobi Marimi’s victory at the Israeli artist selection show The Next Star, the country’s broadcaster KAN announced that the song with which he will take to the stage in May has already been selected, revealing its title too… it’s Home!

Home… on home ground

KAN had opened the submission window for composers wishing to apply their songs for a potential Eurovision participation in late January. However, and after the Israeli hopeful’s determination, an appointed committee met for the first time on Monday, until today’s final decision was made. The song Home, penned by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Vaizman is Israel’s entry to the 64th Eurovision Song Contest!

The official announcement took place tonight, on the main news bulletin of the Israeli national broadcaster:

Now it’s time for what else? The song and video clip’s recording by Kobi Marimi. As reported by KAN, both will be released for the first time on 10 March at the live TV Awards of Israel. Immediately after the news broke out, the Israeli artist spoke about his Eurovision track:

From first hearing the song really moved me and I connected to it immediately, I thank the committee for picking a song that fits me perfectly, and in a few days everyone will be able to share my emotions.

As this year’s host country, Kobi Marimi and Israel will automatically participate at the Grand Final on 18 May.
