One more act is added to the Eurovision 2019 list! Following their Montevizija national selection process, the country of Montenegro made its mind up and decided to send the band D-moll to Tel Aviv, with the song Heaven!
5 acts competed tonight in the show, vying for the coveted Eurovision ticket. However, only one was meant to be the winner who will try to bring to the Balkan country a successful result in May and – why not? – to provide Montenegro with its very first Eurovision victory!
The show was separated into two voting rounds. In the first round, the 5 battling entries were evaluated and shortlisted to 2 by four different jury panels, these being:
- Viewers from home
- Radio jury
- Jury consisting of Montenegrin artists and
- International jury,
the latter consisting of jurors from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Malta, Slovenia, Sweden and Ukraine. Following the conclusion of the first voting round, the two shortlisted acts which advanced to the show’s superfinal were:
- D-Moll – Heaven
- Ivana Popović-Martinović – Nevinost
However, the public was the only juror at the show’s end, as the final outcome of the night emerged exclusively by televoting. And it had only one winner: it was D-moll! Congratulations!
Here you may enjoy the Montenegrin entry to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest!
In addition, one lucky voter was drawn to win a trip for two to Tel Aviv in May, accompanied by tickets to the Eurovision live shows!
Montenegro will be competing in the first half of the first semi-final on 14 May.
