Eric Saade to represent Sweden in Eurovision 2011

Eric Saade has won the 2011 running of the Swedish selection Melodifestivalen and therefore will represent the Scandinavian nation this year in the Eurovision Song Contest. He will defend the Swedish colours with the song Popular.

A total of ten acts competed tonight for the honour of representing Sweden in Düsseldorf. Eric Saade was the clear favourite for both the jury and the public. The final of Melodifestivalen took place in the Stockholm Globen in front of a massive crowd.

Results

Eric Saade has won the majority of both the jury and the public'svote. Hence he has won the competition with 193 points. The top three is completed by Danny Saucedo (149) and The Moniker (124).
