Eurovision 2019: Tal Forer joins the CORE team

With little less than 6 months left for the Grand Final of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest to be held, both Israel and its national broacaster KAN are working round the clock and gearing up for next year’s Eurovision edition. According to local media the multi talented Israeli producer, musician, composer, arranger and pianist Tal Forer has been appointed as the 2019 Eurovision music producer and arranger.

Israeli news portal Walla reports that Tal Forer will be joining the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest CORE Team as the ESC 2019 music producer and arranger. Tal will be responsible to oversee the 2019 Eurovision theme music and the music which will accompany the 42 official postcards which will precede the live peforrmances.

Forer will be behind all the musical arrangements and pieces during the three live Eurovision shows as well as supervising and producing the music which will feature in the postcards. He will be working in close coordination with Mr. Yuhav Cohen ( Eurovision 2019 Director) and Ms. Zivit Davidovitch (Eurovision 2019 Executive Producer).

About Tal Forer

Tal Forer, is a 40 year old internationally acclaimed Israeli  producer, arranger, composer and pianist. He is is one of the most active and prominent musicians in Israel. Among other things, he has been the musical producer of De Weiss since its first season, producing the musical festival for 12 years.

Tal has accompanied  Shlomo Artzi as his pianist for 13 years and produced his album Ktzfat.

Tal has produced three albums for Shlomi Shabat and was behind one of the biggest hits in Israel You Have, which was awarded the Song of the Year Award at an annual Hebrew Song Festival.

He has also been behind the performances of Stick and Ben-El, Harel Skaat (Israel 2010) and Sarit Hadad (Israel 2002).

Postcards Artistic Directors  appointed

Shmuel Ben Shalom and Karen Hochma have been appointed as the Artistic Directors resposible for the 2019 Eurovision postcards according to the same Israeli news site.

Karen Hochma is amongst most sought after artitistic directors in Israel today. She directed the official music video of the 2018 Isreaeli entry Toy. Karen is considered as one of Israel’s leading commercial, TV and music directors having gained much fame and name both at home and overseas. Her work is highly visual and sensorial, drawing influences from her background in dance to create a unique physical and rhythmical language.

Both Shmuel and Karen will be responsible for the visual effects and appearance of the 2019 Eurovision postcards, whilst the exact concept and theme of the postcards is yet to be determined. KAN is currently working on determining the concept of the 2019 Eurovision postcards.

The company which will be responsible to produce the postcards is expected to be selected in the coming days via a special tender process. The 42 participating ESC 2019 acts will be travelling to Israel in April in order to film their respective postcards. They will be accompanied by a number of directors due to the short time frame and tight schedule. Karen and Shmuel will be supervising the whole 2019 Eurovision Postcards project in coordination with the 2019 ESC CORE team.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 14, 16 and 18 May at the Expo Tel Aviv Interntional Convention Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel.
