Eurovision 2019: Tal Barnea and Sharon Ben-David to join the CORE Team

Tel Aviv and Israel are truly gearing up for the forthcoming 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Today the local Israeli media is reporting that the 2019 Eurovision host broadcaster, KAN, has appointed Tal Barnea and Sharon Ben-David to join the 2019 Eurovision CORE Team.

KAN’s, Director of Infomation and Communications, Ms. Sharon Ben-David,  has been reportedly appointed as the Head of Communications for Eurovision 2019 and will be responsible for the communications system and will work with the 1,500 journalists who will be covering the event. Whilst  Tal Barnea (former Israeli Head of Delegation) has been reportedly appointed as the Director of International Relations for Eurovision 2019 , he will be working at the broadcaster’s headquarters under the direction of Ms. Zivit Davidovitch (ESC 2019 producer).

Sharon Ben-David

Sharon Ben-David joined KAN as the broadcaster’s spokesperson two years ago, under the direction of spokeswoman Gili Shem Tov. Sharon was the spokeswoman for the Israeli delegation at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

From this month until the end of the Eurovision Song Contest, Ben-David be responsible to conduct the Eurovision Song Contest, which includes working with all the relevant bodies, including media personalities from Israel and overseas, the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Ministries of Tourism and Culture. .

Tal Barnea

Tal Barnea, serves as the coordinator for EBU and Eurovision operations at KAN/IPBC, he has been the broadcaster’s advisor for EBU related affairs, and is responsible for the coordination between the two organizations and has led the Israeli broadcaster’s membership proceedings at the European Broadcasting Union.

As part of his job, Barnea will be responsible for arranging activities with international partners in the production of ESC 2019, especially the EBU.

Tal has  over 20 years of experience working for the Eurovision Song Contest and the EBU, starting with the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 in Jerusalem. In 2005 he began working at the EBU in Geneva as project manager for the television department.

This year he was the Head  of the Israeli Delegation at the 2o18 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon when Netta won the competition and brought the coveted trophy to Israel for the fourth time.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 14, 16 and 18 May at the Expo Tel Aviv Convention Centre in Tel Aviv.
