The 2009 Eurovision Song Contest host, Russia, have announced their representative in the 2011 contest to be held in Dusseldorf in May. The singer selected is Aleksey Vorobyov, who will perform the song Get you, written by RedOne.

The Russian TV station have announced todat the the 2011 representative for the nation will beAleksey Vorobyov, with the song Get you. Voroyob is no stranger to the Russian Eurovison Scene, in 2008 he ended 5thin the Russian National Final with the song New Russian Kalinka. The writer of the song RedOne, is also no stranger to the Eurovision Scene, as he is participating the the Swedish Andra Chansen tonight, as the songwriter of Love Generation's Dance alone, in hope of gaining the Swedish ticket to Eurovision in May.

Get you will be premiered on the 12th of March when Vorobyov will perform iton Star Academy. The Russian entry will participate in the first half of the first semi final which will be held on the 10th of May, where Vorobyov will be hoping to progress to the final and potentially gain Russia its second victory in the Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2010 Russia were represented in the Norwegian capital, Olso,by Peter Nalitch with his song Lost and forgotten, which ended 7th with 74 points in the semi final and 11th in the final with 90 points.
