RTSH, the Albanian national broadcaster, has confirmed to ESCToday that Albania will participate at the forthcoming 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel.
Good evening Europe this is Tirana calling! Albania will be partaking in Eurovision 2019 come May. Thus Albania joins the list of countries who have confirmed their participation at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.
Albania will once again select its Eurovision act and entry via its traditional iconic music festival Festival i Këngës, as has been the case in past years.
Albania in Eurovision
Albania joined the Eurovision family in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini and is yet to win the competition. The country’s best result in the contest in the contest was achieved in 2012 when Rona Nishliu placed 5th in the Grand Final in Baku.
The Balkan country has participated in Europe’s favourite television show 15 times and has not missed a single contest since its debut in 2004.
In 2018 Eugent Bushpepa won the Albanian national final and flew to Lisbon with his entry Mall, placing 11th in the Grand Final
