Slovakia's national broadcaster (RTVS) have revealed their representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The TWiiNS won the Slovak ticket to Düsseldorf and will perform the song I'm still alive in the second semifinal of the European favourite music competition.
As esctoday.com previously announced, Slovakia's representative at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest was to be revealed today. Three artits were tipped as potential Slovakian entries and The TWiiNS won the honour to represent their country in Düsseldorf over such artists as Mista, who has been appointed back-up representative should the twin sisters be unable to perform in Germany.
The TWiiNS are a popular Slovakian band known to the European audience as they were the backing vocalists of the 2008 Czech Eurovision entry sung by Tereza Kerndlová. During their career, they worked with world famous American producers and their music videos were shot in the United States of America.
The Slovak entry in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, entitledI'm still alive,will be officially presented on March 5th at the Miss Slovakia Universe contest, to be aired on STV's first channel.
Slovakia will try to qualify for the big Eurovision final for the third year in a row since their comeback in 2009. Last year, Kristina represented the central European country in Oslo. Although her song Horehronie was a big fan favourite, she nevertheless failed to reach the final.
