TVM, the Maltese national broadcaster, has today confirmed that television personality and reality star Ben Camille will host the first season of The X Factor Malta.

The first season of The X Factor Malta is starting to come together, with the Maltese national broadcaster – TVM – now officially confirming the host the event: Ben Camille.

Eurovision fans may recognise Camille from previous events in Malta, with the television personality having previously hosted the country’s former national selection – Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) – and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2016.

Now, the host will pursue with his hosting career in his new role as the host of The X Factor Malta, the first season of the event which will kick off this coming October.

Speaking to TVM about his newest hosting role, Camille revealed:

This is a dream come true. The X Factor is one of the most prestigious TV formats and I feel humbled with this great opportunity.

Applications close this week

Last month, TVM confirmed that the winner of the first season of The X Factor will earn the right to represent the country at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, with hopes of the country qualifying to the final of the competition once again in the host country of Israel.

Applications are currently open for bidding artists to submit their video clips, however don’t delay as applications will close this week on Wednesday 4 July.
