Iceland: Sjonni's friends won over 25% of the vote

The organisation of the Icelandic national selection for Eurovision 2011, Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, has informed esctoday.com that Sjonni's friends won the competition with more than 25% of the votes cast (exactly 26.33%). Second was Magni Ásgeirsson with 19%.

A total of 96,651 votes were cast in order to select the Icelandic representative in Eurovision 2011.There was a limit of 20 votes for each phone number.

Sjonni's friends, the group that eventually won the competition with the song Aftur heim by Sigurjón Brink, picked a total of 25,449 votes, which makes 26.33%. Magni Ásgeirsson, runner up, got 18.506 (19.15%).

RÚV has informed esctoday.com that the other songs' scores will remain confidential.

Yohanna, Icelandic representative in Eurovision 2009, was strongly tipped to repeat this year in Germany with the song Nótt. In fact, an impressive 67.7% voted for her in our Icelandic final poll.
