Ermal Meta, Fabrizio Moro, Francesco Gabbani, trio Il Volo and Emma Marrone are among the winners of the 2018 Wind Music Awards.

The Wind Music Awards are an annual event honouring Italian artists who have sold the most copies of their music (CD, DVD, digital) or otherwise gained recognition in the course of the year, certified by the Italian music industry federation FIMI (Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana) and sponsored by telecom operator Wind.

Hosted by well-known Italian presenter Carlo Conti and Italian-Spanish model Vanessa Incontrada, the 2018 edition was held at the historic Verona Arena on the 4th and 5th of June.

A line-up of Italian stars performed and received awards, including Gianna Nannini, Laura Pausini, Nek, Zucchero, international artists Alvaro Soler and Rita Ora, and the San Remo Music Festival 2018 runners-up Lo Stato Sociale, among many others. Various former Eurovision representatives were also lauded.

Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro (Eurovision 2018) both won an award for their critically acclaimed solo albums, Non abbiamo armi and Parole, rumori e anni respectively. The artists also performed their successful Eurovision 2018 collaboration Non mi avete fatto niente.

Another victor at the WMA 2018 is Francesco Gabbani (Eurovision 2017), recipient of two awards: one for his successful album Magellano and the other for his single Tra le granite e le granate. The artist thanked his fans on his Facebook-page:

Popular operatic trio Il Volo (Eurovision 2015) was awarded for their album Notte magica – A tribute to the three tenors and for the live performances of the Notte Magica Tour:
