Today afternoon Latvian Broadcaster (LTV) held a press conference where facts and statistics of Eurovision Song Contest 2003 were revealed

The information presented at the press conference has been summarised during the last three days after the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest. It included the viewer ratings, financial facts, reports of LTV partners.

According to the first calculations, the total proceeds of the 2003 contest is EUR 6.757.756 whereof proceeds of ticket selling, the souvenire merchandising and the rent of equimpent make EUR 750.750, the local authority and sponsors stand for EUR 1.501.501, but the dotation from the the Latvia state budget is EUR 4.504.504.

More than 4,000 tickets were sold for the final concert, but about 3,000 ticket holders watched each of the dress rehearsals.

LTV team admits that the main advantage gained working on the 2003 contest, is the experience. Nothing to say about the technical equipment that has been bought especially for the show.

The Skonto stage, which has received a lot of complimets, will be transformed and used for other LTV events.

Meanwhile the press department of LTV waits for the information about the average number of people visiting Latvia last week. Uldis Grava, the General Director of LTV, said that it is more important how many people will come to Latvia thanks to the Eurovision Song Contest.
