The winner of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest has arrived home! Earlier this morning, Israel’s Netta landed back in her home country where she was greeted by fans and press from across the nation.

It’s been almost 2 days since Israel’s win at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, with celebrations still ongoing amongst Israeli Eurovision fans following the country’s fourth win at the competition.

The celebrations continued in Tel Aviv this morning, where the Eurovision 2018 winner landed at Ben-Gurion Airport together with her whole Israeli team and delegations.

Netta was full on energy following her landing this morning, where the singer danced to a crowd of applauding fans and journalists on the runway and within the airport itself.

Press conference at landing

Following her arrival at the airport in Israel, Netta partook in a short press conference beside the plane she arrived on, expressing her delight at bringing Israel their fourth victory at the competition. Netta stated:

This is a great moment for me, for the delegation and for the country. I am happy that we managed to create a reason for joy in a country that does not have a lot of reasons to celebrate.

Netta continued:

We are all hoarse, we celebrated all night and we didn’t sleep. I want to thank all the amazing people who accompanied me throughout this past half year, they never lost hope and promised me all along the way that victory was ours. A lot of congratulations to us and all of Israel.

To close the conference, Netta concluded:

Throughout this journey, I’ve learned thought creates reality. I want to congratulate Israel for receiving the chance to host next year’s Eurovision […] It’s crazy, it is so much fun to know an event like the Eurovision will take place in Israel.

Later tonight, Netta will perform in Tel Aviv at Rabin Square for a special Eurovision victory concert, where the singer will perform her winning Eurovision 2018 entry Toy. A number of past Israeli representatives will also be present at tonight’s concert, including the 1998 winner Dana International.
