The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest is around the corner and undoubtedly every competing artist invests all of his strength and time in his song and preparations. An exception could not be Croatia’s representative, Franka Batelić, who prior to her departure to Lisbon, revealed an acoustic version of her competing entry Crazy.

Melody changes…

Franka Batelić has been internally selected to fly to Lisbon under the Croatian colours last February, with the song Crazy. Two weeks before her appearance at the contest, today we have the opportunity to enjoy a midnight session of her Eurovision track, which was filmed in a studio basement, within a scenery that travels us back in time.

The lead artist is joined by two female backing vocalists, those being Martina Ivanković and Djordjia Palić, as well as by her song’s producer Branimir Mihaljević in the bass and his son Marko and Ante Gelo playing the guitars. Last but not least, Tonka Javorović gives her own touch to the song with her cello.

Without further wait, it’s time we enjoyed Franka and her friends’ production! Which are your impressions?

Unable to hide her enthusiasm for this alternative jazz version of her single, Franka said the following:

It was so much fun recording the acoustic, jazzy version of Crazy, with such talented musicians. We were jamming until 2 in the morning, to get this kind of a misty, bluesy bar vibe. I love mixing up styles, and usually the best things come from improvising! That’s exactly what we did that night!

In the hope of a qualification to the Grand Final, Croatia and Franka will be taking the stage 12th at the first semi-final evening on 8 May.
