Latvia: Lauris Reiniks back in the Eurovision race

Lauris Reiniks is back in the Latvian Eurovision Song Contest national final. Considered to be among Latvia's most sought after male singers and composers will be competing at the forthcoming Latvian Eurovision 2011 semi finals. Eurovision fans will be familiar to Lauris as he represented Latvia at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Riga as part of the group FLY with the song Hello From Mars.

This time he will be competing at the Latvian Eurovision national selection with the song Banjo Laura. He has competed several times at theEirodziesma Latvia national finals, in 2001 in duet with Linda Leen,in2002asa soloist,in 2003 he won the competitionwhen he represented Latvia as part of FLY, and in 2010 as as a soloist. This will be the 5th time he will be competing at the Latvian Eurovision national selection as a singer. Last year his song I wish I could pretend came 2nd at the Irish Eurovision national selection, receiving top marks from the jury.

Lauris is a multi talented artist who has enjoyed success as a singer, composer, actor and television host.He was born in Dobele, Latvia and started to perform at the tender of 5. He has received more than 20 national awards recognizing him both as a singer and a composer.
