Armenia: Sevak Khanagyan films his Eurovision postcard in Setubal

The 2018 Armenian hopeful Sevak Khangyan, was in Portugal recently in order to film his Eurovision postcard namely in the district of Setubal.

The delegations and participants of the 43 participating countries at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest will be travelling to Portugal prior to the contest in order to film their respective presentation postcards. Each artist will be portrayed in an activity or a challenge.

The postcards will showcase the beauty of Portugal and will portray the Eurovision artists enjoying the sights and sounds of the host country.

The presentation postcards serve as a massive platform for the host country to promote its tourism and showcase itself on a global scale as millions of viewers tune in to watch Europe’s favorite television show. The Eurovision Song Contest reaches households beyond Europe, from Australia to Argentina, from China to New Zealand, from USA to India etc.

The Armenian postcard

The Armenian postcard has been filmed in the countryside in Setubal and will depict the 2018 Armenian Eurovision representative Sevak Khanagyan enjoying the sights and sounds of Grândola.

Sevak commented about his postcard:

I’m very happy to have the opportunity to be here before the contest. Of course, the shooting lasts for only a day, but I managed to get acquainted with the Portuguese culture. The idea for the postcards is also very interesting, and I believe the audience will like it. As soon as the shooting is done, I will leave for Amsterdam to participate in a big pre-Eurovision concert.

About Sevak Khanagyan

Sevak Khanagyan won the second edition of Depi Evratesil (the Armenian national selection for Eurovision) with his entry Qami. He will represent Armenia at the 2018 Eurvovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

Armenia in Eurovision

Armenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens in 2006 and is yet to win the competition. Sirusho and Aram Mp3 retain the country’s best results to date, both having achieved a 4th place in the Grand Final respectively in 2008 and 2014.

Armenia is set to compete in the First Semi-Final 0f the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest on 8 May in Lisbon.
