Moldova has also confirmed its participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest next May in Düsseldorf. Moldova debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 achieving a 6th placing with Zdob si Zdub and the song Boonika bate doba. 40 countries have so far confirmed their wish to participate at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf.

Moldovawas represented by Olia Tira and SunStrokeProject with Runaway at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. 2011 will see Moldova's 7th Eurovision participation and entry. A total of 40 countries have so far confirmed their application to compete at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be held in Düsseldorf next May.

TRM, the Moldovan national television, has yet not announced how their song and singer will be chosen, but it is most likely a national final will be held.
