RedOne, born Nadir Khayat, the Moroccan-Swedish producer and songwriter credited with leading Lady GaGa to global success has entered Melodifestivalen and is in the running to represent Sweden at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with a new girl band, Love Generation.

He is currently recording with Lady GaGa in the Netherlands, but made the following comment for today's press conference at SVT headquarters in Stockholm:

"I am sorry that I cannot be present today, I am currently recording with Lady GaGa in the Netherlands. I am a huge fan of Melodifestivalen and the show has led to the success of bands such as Abba. I've created a new project called Love Generation and they have amazing potential. The world is ready for a new girl group. Wouldn't it be great if that group could come from Melodifestivalen like Abba did".

RedOne has a supreme list of successes including working with last year's Melodifestivalen, Darin on the 2005 hit Step up. In 2006, his song Bamboo became the official FIFA World Cup anthem. He also produced remixes for Shakira and Wyclef Jean.

By 2007, redOne was working with NKOTB, Mika, Brandy, Enrique Englesias, Lionel Richie, Robyn, Christina Milian, Kylie Monogue, Little Boots, Pixie Lott, Sugananes, Nicole Scherzinger, Mylene Farmer, Alexandra Burke and Lindsay Lohan to name a few.
