Dutch Eurovision 2018 representative Waylon has invited young Kimberly Maasdamme as a guest artist at two concerts.
Waylon is working on his performance at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon, but hasn’t forgotten his pupil Kimberly Maasdamme from The Voice Of Holland. The young singer from Team Waylon was surprisingly voted out of the competition just before the final, eventually becoming 5th, or 4th runner-up. Kimberly was supposed to perform a duet with Waylon in the final, but because she didn’t qualify it was cancelled. Kimberly states:
Because of that, the duet with Waylon did not happen. It was planned for the final. It is very cool that it will happen now.
Kimberly’s elimination caused quite a stir, as many people did not feel she deserved to be eliminated. Even Anouk, though coach of another Team, was very vocal about Kimberly’s elimination, stating that the voting public had gone crazy.
Kimberly was afterwards invited to perform as a guest artist at the forthcoming concerts of the Ladies Of Soul (which include former Eurovision participants Edsilia Rombley, Glennis Grace and guest-performer Trijntje Oosterhuis). She already performed with the group during the final of The Voice Of Holland 2018.
And now Waylon has taken his former pupil under his wing, as she will perform a duet with him during his concerts on 30 November and 1 December 2018 in venue Ahoy, Rotterdam.
