Icelandic television broadcaster RUV, has announced the opening of it's search for Iceland's 2011 Eurovision Song Contest entry. The nation took second place in 2009 and reached the Eurovision Song Contest final for the third year running in Oslo last May.
As in previous years Iceland will choose it's Eurovision Song Contest representative through Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins – scheduled to take place in the first two months of 2011.
Additional details were announced earlier today and esctoday.com can confirm that composers have until midnight on October 18th to send in their entries. The selection process is open only to residents of Iceland. Icelandic composers are however allowed to collaberate with composers residing outside Iceland and each composer mayenter a maximum ofthree songs.
