Dutch Eurovision 2013 representative Anouk is proud of her pupil Jim van der Zee, victor of TVOH 2018.
Jim van der Zee convinced the four coaches of The Voice Of Holland with For us both, his English-language version of Amar pelos dois by Eurovision 2017 winner Salvador Sobral, getting the four chairs to turn around, back in October 2017. Eventually, Jim chose team Anouk, and this was a wise choice: Jim van der Zee was crowned as the winner of The Voice Of Holland 2018 on Friday 16 February 2018.
Anouk was impressed by Jim’s vocal abilities and is very proud of her pupil. And the Dutch rock-diva has more to be proud of: Anouk’s other pupil, the Limburgisch Nienke Wijnhoven, placed third as second runner-up, while runner-up Dutch-language singer Samantha Steenwijk was a former member of team Anouk, before a so-called “steal” by team Sanne Hans, frontwoman of the group Miss Montreal.
Rapper Ali B‘s pupil Demi van Wijngaarden placed fourth as third runner-up. Waylon (Eurovision 2014 as part of The Common Linnets and Eurovision 2018 participant) had no more pupils, but was a fervent supporter of Jim van der Zee.
Enjoy Jim van der Zee performing Amar pelos dois (For us both) and his TVOH-single I’m on fire:
