The first round has just thrown its curtains! We witnessed an special show in Iceland, as the island of the North Atlantic is currently in search of their 2018 Eurovision representative. From the 6 competing acts, only 3 have managed to progress to the Grand Final, scheduled to be held on 3 March.
Who are the lucky ones?
The semi-final show lasted circa 90 minutes, and took place at the Háskólabíó conference hall in Reykjavik. Qualifying to the Grand Final of the competition are:
- Fókus hópurinn – Aldrei gefast upp
- Ari Ólafsson – Heim
- Heimilistónar – Kúst og fæjó
Therefore, the following remaining acts are bidding goodbye to Söngvakeppnin 2018 at this point:
- Þórunn Antonía – Ég mun skína
- Tómas Helgi Wehmeier & Sólborg Guðbrandsdóttir – Ég og þú
- Guðmundur Þórarinsson – Litir
Söngvakeppnin 2018 continues next Saturday with its second semi-final, with a further 6 acts trying to do their best, in the hope of the golden Eurovision ticket.
