Almost one million viewers from across the UK tuned in to watch their country select its sixtieth Eurovision act earlier this week.

SuRie won the right to represent her country, with the song Storms. The results were aired live on Wednesday night, being determined by a combination of jury votes, televotes and online votes. The show was hosted by Måns Zelmerlöw, the Swedish winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, and Mel Giedroyc.

It was estimated that 900,000 viewers watched the 90 minute show, which is down on 2017’s 1.3 million, when Lucie Jones was chosen as the UK’s Eurovision act.
