Here is the first Finnish bidding entry! Saara Aalto, Finland’s internally selected artist for Eurovision 2018, has confirmed the nation’s first competing national final entry, Monsters.
Less than a month to go until Finland selects their song entry for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest and the country’s representative, Saara Aalto, has begun to unveil the 3 entries in the bid to become the country’s next song for the competition.
Over the coming weeks, Aalto will release the 3 bidding entries in the lead-up to the national final, all of which will feature on the singer’s debut international album later in the year.
Entry #1: Monsters
Confirmed tonight was Aalto’s first competing Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) entry, entitled Monsters, becoming the first official entry for the competition next month.
Monsters was written by Aalto herself, alongside fellow composers: Joy Deb, Linnea Deb and Ki Fitzgerald.
Both Deb writers are no strangers to the world of Eurovision, having co-written numerous national selection entries over many years, including to former Swedish Eurovision entries: You (2013) and Heroes (2015).
Ki Fitzgerald is the son of the former British representative from 1988, Scott Fitzgerald, who finished as runner-up to Celine Dion.
