Aisha, Latvian representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2010, her supporters and fans gathered on the AB Dambis island on river Daugava to film the postcard to be shown before the Latvian entry on May 25.

On a sunny Tuesday noon, a number of Aisha fans, Latvian media representatives and the Norwegian TV crew came together to film the postcard having the skyline of Old Riga in the background and surrounded by Daugava, the biggest river in Latvia.

Two scenes have been shot. As the Norwegian crew said it was their twelfth postcard and in all countries the sunshine has followed them.

LTV (the Latvian Broadcaster) held a competition to select a family participating in the third scene of the postcard. The concept is to portray a local family cheering for Eurovision full heartedly. The scene depicts a family watching the contest, their emotions and supportive spirit. Family Vartini won the competition and the filming crew visited their home right after the two first shots of the postcard were done.

The Latvian postcard is to be broadcast before the Latvian entry on May 25, 2010 during the first semi-final.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
