The Netherlands: Trijntje Oosterhuis celebrates Christmas with tour and album

Dutch artist and 2015 Eurovision representative Trijntje Oosterhuis embarks on Christmas tour, and releases album.

Trijntje Oosterhuis will again visit Dutch churches and houses of worship, following the successful 2016 edition of her Christmas Church Tour.

Trijntje, who is a daughter of former priest, theologist and poet Huub Oosterhuis, has a special fondness of Christmas songs.

Church Tour 2017

With her Church Tour 2017, she brings the spirit of the season to the public, interpreting some of the most beloved carols and evergreens.

Trijntje Oosterhuis already performed in the Grote Kerk in Apeldoorn (6 December) and tonight, 8 December, she will take the stage in the Nieuwe Kerk, Zierikzee. The remaining concerts will be:

  • 14/12: Enschede, Jacobuskerk
  • 15/12: Harderwijk, Plantagekerk
  • 19/12: Wassenaar, Kasteel De Wittenburg
  • 22/12: Zwolle, Grote Kerk
  • 28/12: Amsterdam, De Duif
  • 29/12: Alkmaar, De Grote St. Laurenskerk

Trijntje Oosterhuis will be accompanied by a pianist.

Acoustic Christmas album released

The artist has also released a special acoustic Christmas album, Christmas Evening With Trijntje – Live, a registration of last years’ concert in Amsterdam with guitarist Leonardo Amuedo:

About Trijntje Oosterhuis

Judith Katrijntje (Trijntje) Oosterhuis (Amsterdam, 1973) is a beloved Dutch artist, singing pop, jazz and blues, among other styles.

She began her career in the group Total Touch, which also included her brother Tjeerd Oosterhuis (composer and producer, married to Edsilia Rombley, Eurovision 1998 and 2007).

In 2015, Trijntje Oosterhuis represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria.

With her entry Walk along, written by Anouk (Eurovision 2013), she unfortunately did not go through to the Grand Final, placing 14th with 33 points among 16 contestants in Semi-Final 1.
