Despina Olympiou at Eurovision

The national Cypriot broadcaster had announced in February 2013 that Despina Olympiou was set to compete at the Malmö-hosted Eurovision Song Contest in May. The song was chosen via an internal selection too, and its title was An me thimase (If you remember me).

Despina took part in the first semi-final evening, making an impressive performance with a black silk dress. Despite the positive comments she had received, she didn’t manage to qualify to the final, as she finished 15th with 11 points.
