Whilst you can support artists by sharing their submissions via social media, only votes via the official website will count towards the outcome of the wildcard vote: YouTube ‘Likes’ do not count.
The winner of the online vote will receive the second wildcard vote of the selection, joining the 2 other wildcard acts alongside the 7 soon-to-be shortlisted artists.
Who are the other 2 wildcards?
In total, 3 artists will receive a wildcard in the Sammarinese national selection for Eurovision 2018, each of whom will be determined via separate votes.
The first wildcard will be decided via the fan club vote. Fan club members from across the continent have been voting for their favourite artists over the past number of weeks, with a shortlist being revealed last week.
With votes being received over the past number of days, voting closed earlier today at 13:00 CET with the winner of the first wildcard set to be announced on the 3 December.
Whilst the second wildcard will be determined via the current online vote, the third and final wildcard will be decided by the country’s broadcaster, the artist of which will be a Sammarinese resident.
The remaining 7 competitors will be determined via the national broadcaster and the 1 in 360 jury members.
National selection begins in January
Once the 10 participants have been unveiled, the country’s national selection will begin at the start of 2018 in January, with a total of 7 live shows set to take place over the weeks to come.
The final of the selection will take place in February 2018, the winner of which will earn the right of representing San Marino at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
As well as earning the huge Eurovision honour, the winner will also be invited to record an entire album together with the 1 in 360 team.
Further details regarding San Marino’s forthcoming national selection are expected to be released over the coming weeks.
