The queen of Scandinavia in terms of Eurovision herself, Loreen is teasing us with more material from her upcoming studio album. The singer dropped her second single off RIDE (due 24 November), the experimental Hate the way I love you.
This is the second promotional piece served to the audience in advance of the album’s arrival later this month. In this particular tune, Loreen is getting even more experimental, embracing a Björk sound and vibe.
Lyrically, the song is an ode to a love-hate relationship with her significant other. She confesses she is “a mess” because of this love, a love strong enough to make her feel like dying in their absence.
While we are waiting for the music video for Hate the way I love you and for the release of RIDE, it is noteworthy that this will mark Loreen’s first full length record in half a decade, since the launch of Heal in October 2012.
