The band members are Yağmur Sarıgül in guitar, Cem Bahtiyar in bass guitar and Özgür Can Öney in drums, as well as Ferman Akgül in vocals and keyboard. Everyone has been members since the band’s very beginning in 2001.

maNga have had quite a successful course in music and the genre that they represent. They have been recognizable in Europe, especially after their awarding as Best Turkish Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 and their placing as runners-up at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest.

They have released 4 albums and several singles, most of which have topped the Turkish charts and have achieved high in European ones.

maNga at Eurovision

The Turkish national broadcaster TRT chose internally in January 2010 the rap rock band maNga to represent the nation in Eurovision 2010 in Oslo. The band had submitted 3 candidate songs to the broadcaster for picking their Eurovision entry. Their selected song We could be the same, was released later in March and made a great deal of sense, as that music genre is not usually met in the contest.

maNga participated and came 1st in the second semi-final in May, qualifying to the Grand Final. There the band managed to end up 2nd to the German winner Lena with 170 points.
