Sergey at Eurovision

Sergey Lazarev flew the Russian flag in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, after been selected internally by the broadcaster RTR Rossija 1. His promising entry You are the only one, composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Philip Kirkorov and staged by Fokas Evagelinos, made Russia the absolute favorite for the victory from the very beginning.

Indeed, the team managed to present quite an impressive and pioneering show for Eurovision, something that was showing till the last moment that Russia would bring the Eurovision trophy back home after 2008.

Eventually in the contest, Sergey easily progressed to the Grand Final where he won the televoting. However and surprisingly, he finished only 5th with the juries and came in 3rd place overall with 431 points.

Would you like to see him again at Eurovision? Will he win it for Russia next time?
